Today's Forecast

Posted: Updated:
HATTIESBURG, MS - Good Morning Mississippi! We're tying and getting very close to breaking new records this morning as cold air continues to sink into Central Mississippi. The Record Low Temp for the 30th of July here in Jackson is 61°, and as of last check, we have tied that value originally reached in 1897! Hattiesburg looks to have tied the overnight low record of 64° (1994) as well. We can easily see the temperatures drop another few degrees before we start to warm up later this morning. Expect highs to remain unseasonably cool again this afternoon, in the mid to upper-80's across the state with very comfortable levels of humidity. Clouds will increase throughout the afternoon and we'll see broken skies throughout the overnight as our next chance for showers and storms moves in by tomorrow. You'll want to keep that umbrella handy because each and every day from tomorrow through the end of the 8-Day Forecast includes a good chance for showers and storms! The summer heat looks to stay away until next week.
