Man Pleads Guilty To Rape Receives 40-year-sentence

Posted: Updated:

Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel says Judge Tony Mozingo sentenced Cameron Eatmon to 40 years after he plead guilty to rape and aggravated assault on Monday morning.

Rigel says Eatmon also had kidnapping and car-jacking charges against that were passed to files to keep the victim from testifying.

Authorities say a 21-year-old woman was kidnapped and raped on Oak Grove Road in Hattiesburg near the intersection of Weathersby back in July of 2012.

Rigel said Eatmon must serve all 40 years day-to-day.
