MACJC softball tournament postponed until weekend

Because of expected continued rain in the Perkinston area, the 2013 MACJC State Softball Tournament has been moved to Saturday/Sunday.

The game times will remain the same for the tournament, which will take place at Ross-Smith Field on the campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The 8th-ranked and defending state champion Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats will open the tournament at noon Saturday vs. Holmes.

All games in the tournament will be webcast on www.mgcccbulldogs.com.

Game 1, Jones County (36-6, South No. 2) vs. Holmes (19-25, North No. 3), noon

Game 2, Pearl River (24-20, South No. 4) vs. Itawamba (31-12-1, North No. 1), 2 p.m.

Game 3, East Central (30-14, South No. 3) vs. East Mississippi (24-18, North No. 2), 4 p.m.

Game 4, Miss. Gulf Coast (31-8, South No. 1) vs. Northeast (23-14-1, North No. 4), 6 p.m.

Sunday's games

Game 5, Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner, Noon

Game 6, Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner, 2 p.m.

Game 7, Championship, Game 5 winner vs. Game 6 winner, 5 p.m.
