Jeff Haeger

A Pass Christian, MS native, Jeff Haeger graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2013 with a degree in broadcast journalism. He's been hooked on sports ever since watching Michael Jordan in the 1997 NBA finals, and chose broadcast journalism as a means to express that passion. He now does so five days a week, as he was hired to work as a full-time digital journalist for WHLT-TV CBS 22 in 2013.

    The day after the Major League Baseball Home Run Derby, the bats were doing similar damage at USM's youth baseball camp. Tuesday marked the second day of the four-day camp, the second Southern Miss has hosted this summer. While hitting the big flies and moon shots is one of the most fun part of camp for some of the participants, they also realize it is about more than just the long ball - learning the tools and fundamentals for later is more important.
