Conference USA Announces Six Television Games for Southern Miss Football in 2013

Posted: Updated:

Conference USA announced its preliminary football television schedule for the 2013 season Tuesday morning and Southern Miss will have six additional games broadcast this fall.

Along with their first-ever appearance on the Big Ten Network (BTN) this fall against Nebraska on Sept. 7, which was announced Monday, the Golden Eagles are set to appear once on Fox Sports Net (FSN), twice on the CBS Sports Network (CBS SN) and three times on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS).

The FSN contest takes place Oct. 19 at East Carolina with an as of yet announced game time in the final meeting of these two C-USA rivals.  As for the CBS SN contests, the Golden Eagles take to the road to face Marshall on Nov. 2 in an 11:30 a.m. CT, contest and the following week, Nov. 9, at Louisiana Tech in a 6 p.m. CT, start.

The CSS contests include home games against FIU (Oct. 5), Florida Atlantic (Nov. 16) and Middle Tennessee (Nov. 23). Times for those games have not been set by television at this time.

The 2013 football season marks the third year of a multi-platform media rights agreement between Conference USA and FOX Sports Media Group.  This season, FOX Sports 1, FOX's new national sports cable network launching this August, is scheduled to televise a minimum of 10 regular-season Conference USA football games.  Additional games will again be carried nationally on FOX Sports Networks owned-and-affiliated regional networks which reach more than 85 million homes and FOX College Sports.

This season also marks the ninth year of C-USA's partnership with CBS Sports Network that includes significant national and regional exposure for football. CBS Sports Network is the 24-hour home of CBS Sports and is available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 613 and Dish Network Channel 158.

The 2013 C-USA Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7 is scheduled to air on either ESPN or ESPN 2.  It marks the ninth-straight year that the C-USA Championship will air on the ESPN Family of Networks.

Additional Conference USA football television exposures remain a possibility (including games that are guaranteed to be televised as part of other conference's television packages), and games will be released as soon as they are finalized. The Golden Eagles could also add television games due to other leagues' agreements.
