Fan Vote Decides Southern Miss Football Alternate Gold Helmet Design

Posted: Updated:

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The results are in on a vote held for Golden Eagle fans to pick the design of the alternate gold helmet that the 2013 football team will wear at least once during the upcoming season. The vote is part of the Southern Miss Rise To The Top campaign.

By an overwhelming margin, the winning design chosen was the inverted version of the current Southern Miss helmet logo. That design includes the words Southern Miss in black, which are outlined in white with bars on both sides, also shown in white. The design includes a black stripe along the middle of the helmet and includes a black facemask as well.

The goal of the Rise To The Top campaign is to further enhance fan interaction with the football program through the various avenues and assets that Southern Miss Athletics has to offer.
