Hattiesburg Mayoral Election Final Count

Hattiesburg's Incumbent Mayor Johnny DuPree has unofficially won the 2013 election by a narrow margin of 37 votes.

The final count is:

DuPree   -    4,775 Votes   -    49.43%

Ware      -    4,738 Votes   -    49.05%

Nathan Jordan    -   94 Votes

Clyde Stewart     -   28 Votes

Shawn O'Hara     -   16 Votes

Write-Ins             -   9 Votes

This very close election came down to the final counting of affidavit ballots of which there were 115. Of those 115 ballots 47 were approved and 68 were rejected. Of affidavit ballots - 25 were in favor of DuPree, 21 in favor of Ware and 1 in favor of Nathan Jordan.

Official confirmation of the final election numbers is not expected until Monday.
