RALEIGH, N.C. -

A man arrested Wednesday during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Morrisville has been charged with being a fugitive from justice and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Michael David Edwards, 29, of Durham, was stopped between Aviation Parkway and Airport Boulevard Wednesday around 11 a.m. by a highway patrol trooper.

Edwards was wanted in Tennessee for promoting, producing and manufacturing methamphetamine.

During the stop, the trooper discovered a liquid substance which was believed to be hazardous. The SBI said the liquid was not meth, but some items have been submitted to the State Crime Lab for analysis.

Edwards is being held on a $205,000 bond.
