FGH Recognized for Heart Attack Care

Forrest General Hospital receives recognition from the American Heart Association for its quick response in heart attack care.

The hospital was awarded the American Heart Association's Mission Lifeline Silver Quality Achievement Award for heart attack care.

Each year in the United States there are nearly 300 thousand people have a STEMI -heart attack which is the most severe form of a heart attack.

To prevent patients from dying it's critical for medical personnel to act fast to restore blood flow to the heart and opening blocked vessels.

American Heart Association officials say Forrest General Hospital exceeds the standards of quick patient response.
