Gov. Bryant Sets Hattiesburg Special Election Date

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Gov. Phil Bryant issued a Writ of Election Tuesday that set Sept. 24, 2013 as the date for the Hattiesburg mayoral special election.

Judge William F. Coleman  ordered a new election on last Thursday following a mistrial.

The Writ of Election says that all previous candidates should appear on the ballot unless they would like to withdraw from the race.

Outside of Incumbent Johnny DuPree and Former Councilman Dave Ware, Clyde Stewart, Shawn O'Hara, and Nathan Jordan were also on the ballot.
