Daytona Beach, Fla.- In a showdown of top 15 teams #14 William Carey  just couldn't slow down #6 Embry Riddle as they fell to the Lady Eagles, 5-1.

WCU was originally scheduled to take on Embry Riddle Saturday night but severe weather in the Daytona Beach area forced the game to be postponed till Sunday.

The game was defensive standoff in the first half as the two teams combined for nine shots but the Lady Eagles made the most of their opportunities as Andrea Froshaug knocked in a Katherine Ebbs cross in the 33rd minute to put Embry Riddle up 1-0 at the half.

The Lady Eagles stretched the lead to 3-0 early in the second  half before WCU got on the board thanks to a goal from Blaire Guice in the 62nd minute. However WCU could not maintain the momentum and the Eagles added two more goals for the final margin.

WCU returns to action on Monday morning as they take on #10 Northwood in Daytona Beach. Kickoff is set for 10:00 AM (EST).
