DeBarriaus Miller, DB, 5-10, 183, So., Fort Valley Ga.
Miller tallied a career-high 14 tackles against nationally ranked Nebraska, including nine solo stops. One of his tackles was for loss of five yards and he added a quarterback hurry in the contest. Miller tallied 11 of his tackles in the first half against the Huskers. It was Miller's sixth career start as he was one of three sophomores and one freshman to start in the game against Nebraska.

Special Teams

Matthew Moseley, P, 5-10, 164, r-So., Franklin, Tenn.

Moseley, in just his second game as the Golden Eagle punter, collected five punts for a 45.2 yards per punt including a career-long of 60 yards. He notched three punts that landed inside the 20-yardline including that was downed at the Nebraska 1. He also added a 56-yard boot in the contest.

Notes
* True freshman Tyre'oune Holmes collected a team-high eight catches against Nebraska to give him 20 receptions for the season over his first two career games.
* QB Allan Bridgford, who has thrown for 599 yards in his first two games, connected with target Rickey Bradley, Jr., for their first touchdown combination of 41 yards against the Huskers. It was the longest TD pass of the year and Bradley has now caught 10 passes for a team-best 250 yards.
* Junior placekicker Corey Acosta continued a solid start to his season by connecting on both field goal attempts against the Huskers, including a 32-yarder and a season-high kick of 45 yards.
* Kalan Reed, a sophomore, tallied seven tackles (three solo), including one for loss for two yards and a pair of pass breakups this season. Reed leads the team through two games with four PBUs.
* In 2013, the Golden Eagles have seen 10 true freshman getting playing time including starting assignments from Holmes and Kelsey Douglas.
* The Golden Eagles played in front of the second-largest crowd in Memorial Stadium history of 90,466 at Nebraska.
* Southern Miss continues its three-game road swing this week when they travel to Fayetteville to meet Arkansas for the first time in its history. After the Razorback contest, the Golden Eagles will take their first of two bye weeks, before finishing the road swing at Boise State on Sept. 28.
* This will be the first contest against an SEC opponent for Southern Miss since taking on South Carolina to start the 2010 season. The Golden Eagles, at one point, had a streak of playing at least one SEC opponent a year from 1964 until 2008.
