Golden Eagles Focus on SEC Foe Arkansas This Weekend

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss football team returned to practice here Tuesday afternoon to get ready for the second of its three-game road swing this Saturday at Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas.

Game time is set for 11:21 a.m., and can be heard on one of the affiliates of the Southern Miss IMG Network, including flagship station, Rock 104 (104.5 FM) in Hattiesburg/Laurel. The contest will also be televised on the SEC Network and can be seen on these stations in markets throughout the state of Mississippi including: WHLT-TV in Hattiesburg-Laurel, WXXV-TV in Biloxi-Gulfport, WCBI-TV in Columbus-Tupelo-West Point, WABG-TV (ABC) in Greenwood-Greenville, WJTV-TV in Jackson and EGBC (NBC) in Meridian.

After practice Tuesday, first-year coach Todd Monken enjoyed the energy and enthusiasm as well as the intensity of his team's practice as the squad made a conscientious effort over the last few days to take better care of their bodies this week in preparation to face the Razorbacks for the first time in the school's history.

"It was the best Tuesday (practice) we have had," said Monken. "We have only had three of them, so the sample size was small, but today was the best Tuesday we've had."

The Golden Eagles, which went for over two and a half hours at the Joe P. Park Facility in full pads, will return to practice Wednesday afternoon as they continue to install this weekend's game plan.
