Spirit of Women Enjoy Health-U-Tainment

Posted: Updated:

Over 100 ladies met today for a luncheon at the Hattiesburg Country Club.

The theme was"Oh! the places we've been!"

Guest speakers Cathie Price and Mark Fite shared funny stories about their life journeys with all kinds of people from Richard Nixon to Martha Stewart.

Lincoln Center Clinic Practical Nurse Ronda Vanderheiden also spoke to the women regarding their health.

"I want all these ladies who attend today to be healthy enough to go and experience further adventures in their life," she said.

She said it's important for women to see their physician on a regular basis and have proper screenings and immunizations.

"The premise of Spirit of Women is that women are taking care of everybody in their homes, their houses, their in-laws, etc.," Coordinator Kathy Emmons said. "So we've got to take care of ourselves so we're in shape to take care of others."

Vanderheiden said sharing health tips and advice with the public is an important task.

"And I love it," she said. "I enjoy getting out of the office and meeting people."
