HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Mississippi Department of Education releases it's school ratings from the last year.
Hattiesburg Public Schools received a "C" district wide. Superintendent James Bacchus said, there are three schools he is worried about.
"One school, this is the second year as a "F," he said.
Lillie Burney Elementary School is the one school that is failing.
"It went almost from a high-performing school to an "F" school in only a year," he said.
The other two schools that are under close watch are Hattiesburg High and Rowan Elementary.
"Our high school is a "D" school and one of our elementary school's is a D," he said.
The Department of Education shows that Thames Elementary is the only high-performing school in the city, receiving a "B". The other four Hattiesburg schools received a "C".
"We know what our challenges are and we are working toward them," he said. "Our key thing is that we try to provide education for every child for their individual needs."
