HPD Investigates Yellow Fiddle Burglary

Posted: Updated:

The Hatttiesburg Police Department investigates a burglary of a local business.

The Yellow Fiddle is a bar and music lounge on Hwy 49.

HPD officials said it was broken into and several pieces of equipment were reported stolen.

The owner said he locked up the business Saturday when they closed and returned Tuesday.

That's when he noticed the mess the crooks left behind.

The crime report said a sound mixer, keyboard and guitar were stolen.

Police don't have anyone in custody at this time.

"When I walked into our venue area, which is in the back, I noticed a big boulder that was thrown into our window, and my speakers were all tossed to the ground and I had my speaker board and several other things were missing," Yellow Fiddle owner Adam Walters said.  "We had over $1,000 worth of stuff stolen from us last night, which, for a small business, it hits us pretty hard."
