NC home vandalized for not leaving Halloween candy

CONOVER, N.C. -

Vandals spray-painted a family's home in Conover, N.C., because the family didn't leave out candy on Halloween.

WSOC reports the homeowner, Natalie Vedashenko, woke up Friday morning to see messages like "No candy?" and "cheap" spray-painted all over her home and two cars.

Natalie and her fiancé took their daughter trick-or-treating in a different neighborhood and left their home with the lights off and no candy.

The couple just spent nearly $5,000 to put up the siding last year, reports the ABC affiliate in Charlotte. Now they are considering installing security cameras outside their home.

Vedashenko, 28, told the Hickory Daily Record that they heard a noise about 1:30 a.m. after they took their 1-year-old daughter trick or treating. She said her fiancee went outside and saw eggs smashed against them home in addition to all the paint on her walls.

"I cried. I mean, what can you do?" she told the paper. "I can't imagine a normal person in their right mind did this."
