Fayetteville police are asking for assistance in locating an individual needed for questioning in connection with the death of a 19-year-old man Oct. 31.

Police are looking for Breydale Lewan Campbell, 19, whose last known address is 1506 Darvel Avenue. Campbell has been known to frequent areas in the Rosehill Road, Shaw Mill Road and Bunce Road corridors.

Campbell is only sought for questioning as police do not have a warrant for his arrest.  Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Campbell, is asked to please contact Detective P. Orellano with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 988-6543.

Fayetteville authorities said Dontez Lamar Woods was shot around 9 p.m. in the parking lot of the apartment complex off Rosehill Road in northern Fayetteville.

According to police, Woods was waiting for a ride when he was confronted by two people in a white vehicle. One of the subjects in the white vehicle pulled out a handgun during the confrontation and shot Woods.

He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police chief Harold Medlock said police believe Woods knew the assailants.
