Kat Robichaud survives in 'The Voice,' saved by CeeLo

Raleigh's Kat Robichaud survives to see another round of competition on "The Voice."

Thursday's episode saw two contestants go home from each team, cutting the number of singers down to 12 total.

Kat is one of those 12.

The fate of the contestants was based on votes from viewers and the number of times each singer's performance from Tuesday was downloaded on iTunes. The coach of each team also got to pick one singer to save from elimination.

Host Carson Daly announced the names of two of Kat's teammates as being chosen by America to move on in the competition. Kat stood nervously with two other teammates waiting to hear what choice her coach, CeeLo, would make.

"This is my most uncomfortable moment. I don't enjoy this at all," CeeLo said before making his choice. "I love you all equally. You are all equally incomparable."

After what probably seemed like an eternity to Kat, CeeLo announced he had chosen the Raleigh singer to remain in the competition.

After the show, Kat said she was preparing herself to go home as she awaited CeeLo's decision.

"It meant everything to me that CeeLo believes in me still," Kat said. "I know it was a hard decision."

Kat said she is excited to get to work on next week's show as she is performed a song that is "heavy rock n' roll." She mentioned how the song will be a stark contrast from her performance on Tuesday.

"The claws are coming out," she said.

Kat performed Mary Lambert's single "She Keeps Me Warm" Tuesday night during "The Voice" live rounds. Kat said she was honored to sing the song for both its meaning and how she applied its message to her relationship with her husband.
