Local Business Gives Away Car

Posted: Updated:

A Pine Belt person in need might have a chance to turn things around.

B & B Automotive Services in Sumrall is giving away a car.  Owner Brandy Haden said he's been in business seven years.

"If it wasn't for the people in this community and the Pine Belt surrounding area, I would not have been successful, and I want to show my appreciation to the people by giving back a small token," Haden said.

The car is a 2004 Nissan Altima.  Haden recently installed a Jasper engine and spruced up the car to make sure it runs well.

It will also come with a 3-year/100,000 mile warranty.

Haden said it's easy to apply.

"If someone knew somebody that needed a car that's had a hard time, somebody that's trying to do good but just needs a little help, just struggling or doesn't have enough income or whatever can enter their name," Haden said.

Applicants can nominate a friend by calling 601-758-4600 or mailing the nominee's name, phone number and story of his or her needs to 1018 Hwy. 42 Sumrall, MS 39482.

A committee will look over the applications and select a winner.  The winner will be announced Dec. 17 at the Old Town Christmas Festival in Sumrall.
