Hattiesburg Holds Veterans Day Parade

Posted: Updated:

Hattiesburg, Miss. - The City of Hattiesburg  held its third annual parade Monday in honor of Veterans Day.

Organizers say more than 80 groups participated.

The parade started at Hardy Street Baptist Church and ended at Veterans Memorial Park.

This year several middle and high school bands participated along with other organizations and public service members across the Pine Belt.

Organizers say the parade is a good way to showcase our local veterans.

The Armed Forces Top Enlisted Association Magnolia Chapter plans it.

They say it's the biggest one they've had so far.

"We organize it and it started 3 years ago and it's been nothing but a success every since and we are proud of it," said Marion Walley, AFTEA Magnolia Chapter president.
