Waynesboro Family Loses Home in Fire

Posted: Updated:

A family of 4 will not be home for the holidays since they lost it in a fire.

Waynesboro Fire Chief Willard Crocker said they were called to the wood-framed house Tuesday around 7:45 p.m. after neighbors reported the fire.

Upon arrival, he said flames were already shooting through the roof.  They fought the blaze for about 2 hours.  It was deemed a total loss.

The family wasn't home at the time of the fire.  Crocker says they believe the fire was electrical in nature and that it started in the attic.
