Motorcyclist killed after hitting pedestrian in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

The driver of a motorcycle is dead after hitting a pedestrian walking on the All American Freeway in Fayetteville Monday evening.

Fayetteville Police said the pedestrian was hit by a motorcycle around 6:21 p.m. Monday.

The motorcycle continued a short distance before the driver, 21-year-old Cody Marcel Soucier, lost control and crashed. Soucier was then struck by another vehicle and sustained a fatal injury.

The pedestrian, 26-year-old Karis-Paige Michaels, is listed in critical condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the motorcyclist, 77-year-old Bessie Blaylock, was not injured.
