Petal Fire Department Receives Donation

"Enbridge is committed to community safety," Plant Advisor Robert Mitchell said. "Wherever we have a plant or an operation going on, our motto is safety and integrity."

That's the reason for the $1,000 check presentation.

Plant Advisor Robert Mitchell said they try to donate from their community safety program every year.

Petal's Assistant Chief Shane Pickett said the money will be put toward training.  The department tries to send each firefighter to a school each year, but the budget only goes so far.

"Well when people come in and these companies donate money to us, we're very thankful for it because we can take that money and do things that we want to do but didn't have the money to do," Pickett said.
