Mississippi State Offensive lineman Gabe Jackson takes home the 2013 C Spire Conerly Trophy.

The senior left guard is the first at his position to win the award.

In addition to the Conerly, Jackson also won the first-ever Kent Hull Trophy, which goes to the state's top offensive lineman.

"This is great," says Jackson. "I couldn't be any happier. I'm grateful and I feel honored to get that award. A lot of great players have had it."

"Even at the next level, people looked and saw a guy that's got a lot of talent, but they also saw a guy that's going to bring his lunch pale to work, and is a professional about doing the best that he can do and I think that's certainly going to help him in the future," says MSU head football coach Dan Mullen.
