COLUMBIA, Miss. - Several agencies across the state will start the campaign "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Friday.

"It's going to be a zero tolerance campaign," Sgt. Justin McKenzie of Columbia Police. "We want to reduce the number of impaired drivers and we actually want to stop it."

He said drivers will see an increase in patrols for the next three weeks.

"We will also have additional road blocks set up on the highways, city streets, and county roads," he said.

Outside of drunk drivers, police will be looking for other driving violations.

"We'll be focusing on seat belts, child restraints," he said.

They will also be looking for distracted drivers.

"Don't let our next call be your last text," he said.

Police also want drivers to slow down.

The last day for the campaign is Jan. 1.
