So what were Americans talking about in 2013?

Talkers magazine covers the news and talk show industry and tracks what talk shows were the most focused on 2013.

Politics, as might be expected, dominated the talk show agenda. The most talked-about topic was the rollout of the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare.

Second was the investigation of the Benghazi attack.

And third was the IRS being accused of targeting conservative groups.

Fourth was the battle over the government shutdown, and fifth was the Edward Snowden case.

The most-talked about people were primarily politics, with Barack Obama leading the way followed by John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton.

The most-talked about people who were not politicians were Rush Limbaugh (seventh), Edward Snowden (12th), George Zimmerman (14th), Trayvon Martin (15th), Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev (16th), Pope Francis (18th) and Ben Bernanke (19th).
