Laurel Police Arrest Four in Connection to Weekend Double Murder

UPDATE:

The four suspects arrested in connection with the double murder in Laurel had their initial appearance in court today.

Bond is set at $1 million for Maurice Jones and Gregory Nix who were both charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault each.

The judge set an additional $250,000 bond for the aggravated assault charges.

The bonds for Sylvashia McDonald and Brittany Waters are set at $10,000 each for hindering prosecution.

Laurel Police arrest four people in connection to the weekend's double murder.

Maurice Jones, 23, and Gregory Nix, Jr., 22, are each charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault.

Sylvashia McDonald, 18, and Brittany Waters, 20, are charged with hindering prosecution.

Jones and Nix allegedly fatally shot Justin Curry, 19, and Bennie Owens, 31.

It happened at this home on Woodlawn Drive Friday night.

Police say the motif is unclear.

The case remains under investigation.
