Mandatory Curfew Issued For Hattiesburg

Posted: Updated:

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Mayor Johnny DuPree is advising everyone who does not have to be out on the roads to stay home if possible. He issued this statement Tuesday evening:

I am issuing a mandatory curfew for City of Hattiesburg residents beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28 to Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7 a.m. to ensure we are doing all we can to keep you safe as well as our emergency personnel.

We must all do our part to protect each other during the snowstorm. We have a history of respecting mother nature and we do not want this time to be an exception. I strongly recommend that all individuals who are not providing critical services-such as pharmacies, gas stations, after-hour medical clinics, hospitals, etc., adhere to the mandatory curfew.

Meanwhile, we will continue to salt the roads and keep you updated on the weather forecast.
