Hattiesburg Preps For Fiber To The Home Block Party

Posted: Updated:

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The City of Hattiesburg is hoping that they can bring Fiber Internet to residents by winning a competition against other cities in the state.

It's all a part of C-Spire's "Get Fiber First" challenge.

The city is holding a block party this weekend at the C-Spire store location on Highway 49 near the Cloverleaf Mall.

Food and information about Fiber Internet will be available for those who attend.

City officials say they wan to educate residents about how this is a great opportunity to improve Internet access in homes.

Experts say Fiber Internet is one hundred times faster than normal broadband.

Hattiesburg is competing against eight other cities in the state.
