The Southern Miss men's basketball team improved to 21-3, after defeating Marshall and Charlotte at home on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

It was an up and down weekend for Neil Watson, who propelled USM to its 60-57 win on Friday by knocking down a dagger three-pointer with 2.0 seconds remaining.

On Sunday the senior point guard fell awkwardly at the end of the first half, and sat out the second half with a mild sprain to his right ankle.

Northeast Jones and West Jones both walked away with their third state championships on Saturday, bringing an end to the high school soccer season once and for all.

On Friday Ray Guy celebrated his recent induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, by interacting with the fans who have supported him in his HOF quest over the last 23 years.
