Jones Co. Man Charged With Embezzlement

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - A former Jones County scrap yard worker is charged with embezzlement.

The manager of a Jones County scrap yard told police that Jeremy Cook was fired when he discovered Cook had been stealing checks from the business and cashing them at a local bank.

The checks totaled more than $500.

Judge Billie Graham set Cook's bond at $5,000.

He's  being held at the Jones County Adult Detention Center.

Laurel Police Department Investigator Kim Stewart assisted with the case.
