A 43-year-old man once considered one of South Mississippi's most-wanted criminal suspects is on the run again.

The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/LWEzN3 ) Melvin Patrick Mason is accused of slipping out of court after a judge ordered him to take a drug test.

Mason had been out of jail on bond since his arrest on a fugitive warrant on child sex-crime charges in May 2012.

Mason showed up for his arraignment Monday in Hancock County Circuit Court to enter a plea on 10 counts of touching of a child for lustful purposes and three counts of sexual battery.

Assistant District Attorney Chris Daniel said the judge ordered a drug test and an officer was called to court to perform the test but officials learned Mason had disappeared.
