FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that no charges will be filed against two men involved in an altercation and shooting at the Gates Four Community in Fayetteville Monday night.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday at 6850 Towbridge Road.

The sheriff's office said it appeared that 48-year-old Gerald Hilton Lord, a food delivery man, and 18-year-old Thomas Earl Jacobs got into an altercation where both men were injured.

The sheriff's office said Lord pulled into the driveway of the wrong address and Jacobs asked Lord to get off his property. The two men exchanged words and Lord left to make his delivery.

Lord returned a short time later and the two got into and argument. Lord allegedly placed a gun in the teen's face. Deputies said the gun discharged twice. One bullet grazed Jacob's neck and the second struck Lord in the forearm.

Lord was taken to Womack Army Medical Center and Jacobs was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Investigators are not filing any charged in the case and both men have been advise to seek a magistrate to settle the matter.

No other details were immediate released.
