Dog found with mouth duct taped shut

Posted: Updated:
A Boynton Beach, Florida woman is accused of animal abuse.

Officers were called out to Andrea Curiel's home two weeks ago where they discovered her dog with duct tape wrapped around its mouth. It also was in a very small cage that was not cleaned according to authorities.

Apparently she told police she taped the dog's mouth shut because she was afraid managers at the apartment complex would hear it barking.

Police said Curiel told them she meant to clean the dog's cage but was running late.

She was arrested on charges of animal cruelty and had bond set at $3,000.
