Fans invited to NCCU basketball banquet May 1

DURHAM, N.C. -

The North Carolina Central University men’s basketball team invites fans to attend a banquet on Thursday, May 1, to celebrate the Eagles’ 2013-14 season, which included the 2014 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and a trip to the NCAA Division I Tournament.

The banquet will be held inside McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium starting with dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a program featuring head coach LeVelle Moton and members of the 2013-14 MEAC Championship Basketball team. Chris Hooks, the play-by-play voice of the NCCU Sports Network, will serve as the emcee of the event.

Fans who want to dine on the gym floor with the team can purchase tickets at the NCCU Ticket Office for $50 each or $475 for a table of 10.

Others can watch the proceedings from the upper seating section of the gym for free. The doors will open at 7 p.m. for upper seating section.

Proceeds from this event will benefit NCCU men’s basketball team. To purchase tickets, call the NCCU Ticket Office at 919-530-5170.
