Haunted Halls: The Saenger Theater

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - It's rumored these halls are haunted. Hattiesburg locals tell us the Saenger Theater bares the spirit of a young girl who died.

"There has been some very strange occurrences in the balcony since I've been here. And I know some of the previous theater managers have told some stories as well," Daniel Taylor, Saenger Theater Manager said.

And the story goes, the young girl fell to her death from the balcony to the main level. We brought paranormal investigators in to see if they sensed her spirit trapped within the walls.

Once the equipment was pulled out to validate the paranormal energy felt, the investigators were able to give us a possible scenario that ultimately led to the young girl's death.

"What I'm picking up is this little girl, between 5 and 6 years old was coming down the steps. As she got to the bottom I see her catching her foot on the bottom step and tripping and going over..." said Tracy Jefcoat, Hub City Paranormal Investigator.

Hub City Paranormal says paranormal activity involving young children is common.

"When young children pass away they may not know the way to get to the light or how to passover. So children's spirits are kind of abundant, unfortunately," said  Laura Bufkin, Hub City Paranormal Investigator.

The investigators tell us there's a possibility that more than one spirit haunts the halls, and with a packed schedule for the Saenger Theater the spirits will be in good company...
