Prosecutors believe Calyx Schenecker and her brother Beau died at the hands of their mother on Thursday, January 27, 2011.

Calyx was 16 at the time and went to King High School. Beau was 13 and attended Liberty Middle.

Calyx would've graduated from high school last year. Her classmates wore wristbands to honor her. At the time, they remembered her as thoughtful, brilliant and artistic.

Obituaries described her as model student, published artist and tenacious cross country and track athlete. They remembered Beau as a lovable person who had countless friends.

Police believe Julie Schenecker shot Beau twice in the head as she drove him home from soccer practice in the family's white Honda minivan. Then, they say, she parked the van, went inside the family home in New Tampa, and shot Calyx.

Funeral services for the children were held in their father's hometown of Fort Worth on February 8, 2011.

A Memorial Fund is set up in the children's honor: Community Foundation of Tampa Bay 550 N. Reo St. Suite 301 Tampa FL 33609-1037
