Deadly Shooting In Hub Community Deadly Shooting In Hub Community
MARION COUNTY, Miss. - A high school boy is dead after being shot in Marion County.

"We had a seventeen years old young man who had his whole life ahead of him. He lost his life yesterday necessarily..." said Berkley Hall, Marion County Sheriff.

Hall Says this is the first homicide in his county this year.

He says deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to gunfire near the Hub Community.

Two people were shot, one was just grazed by a bullet, the other, an unidentified minor later died.

Sheriff Hall says they're working quickly to put the shooter behind bars.

"You just have to trace it back and try to put the pieces of the puzzle together. You know, and like I said, I feel real good about it and hopefully we're going to bring this thing to a head quickly," said Hall.

According to east marion high school principal, John Taylor, the deceased victim was a sophomore.

"If anybody has any idea of anything to do with this, please contact the Marion County Sheriff's office. We'd appreciate the community's help, because law enforcement can't do it by their selves." Hall explained.
