HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The city of Hattiesburg is one of 15 cities across the nation in the running to get a $100,000 dog park.

The Hub City Humane Society has nominated Hattiesburg in the 'Bark For Your Park' contest.

The city has gotten over then 2,400 votes making it to a top 15 finalist spot.

According to Hub City Humane Society Hattiesburg must get votes to win the grand prize.

"It's based off of votes, so whatever community has the most votes wins the hundred-thousand dollars. We actually have one of the bigger cities in the competition so we have the potential of winning the dog park if everybody votes," said Sarah Douglas, Hub City Humane Society.

If the Hub City Humane Society wins the grand prize, they plan to build the park on the 70-acres it sits on.
