LARGO, FL (WFLA) -

A Pinellas elementary school teacher is accused of sending lewd pictures and texts to a 17-year-old.

Lesley R. Brown, 45, is charged with two counts of transmission of material harmful to minors.

Brown is employed by the Pinellas County School system as a fourth grade teacher at Fuguitt Elementary.

On Monday, June 23, Largo Police officers were called to Highland Recreation Center after someone reported an adult woman and a juvenile going into a unisex bathroom together.

Officers report Brown told them the teen is her “workout partner and spotter”.

Brown and the teen both denied that anything happened in the bathroom, and that they locked the door because they didn’t want it to “appear as if something was going on”.

The teen's mother was called to take custody of her son.  Brown was issued a trespass warning by the center's staff.

Later Monday night, officers found naked pictures of Brown, and lewd texts, on the teen’s cell phone.  Brown was arrested Tuesday.

According to investigators, the relationship is not in any way related to her position as a teacher, and they did not meet at school.
