The Mississippi State Department of Health issued a certificate to Forrest General, giving the project the green light.

The 20,000-square-foot building will be operated by Asbury Hospice House.

The estimate price tag for the in-patient facility is $6.4 million.

"Its and unmet need in the area, we estimate that there's probably about between 1,300 and and 2,000 in-patient hospice submissions annually that are not there's no facility for these patients," stated Doug Jones, FGH Chief Operations Officer.

Currently the nearest in-patient hospice facility is in Jackson.

Forrest general reps expect for the new facility to be completed in August of 2015.
